Central Valley Construction Funding Update
PALO ALTO, Calif. – VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) is pleased to announce the inclusion of funding for the future Stockton Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) as part of President Obama’s Fiscal Year 2016 budget request for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
“The construction of this facility is part of a larger plan to realign services from our Livermore Division to locations that will better serve our nation’s Veterans in the East Bay and Central Valley,” said Lisa Freeman, director of VAPAHCS. “This is a critically important first step in receiving the major construction funds to allow all portions of this multiphase project to be completed.”
The 52-acre, undeveloped site has already been purchased in French Camp and is located near the existing Stockton clinic and San Joaquin County General Hospital. The $139 million of funding requested for the new 158,000 square foot clinic also includes a central utility plant, associated site work, off-site utilities, parking, and landscaping. Funding will be requested in future budgets for the 120-bed Community Living Center and CBOC in Fremont.
The realignment and closure will eventually replace the Livermore Division. Watch the development of this site and learn more about the realignment project on the VAPAHCS Construction website.
