The new VISN 21 Energy Manager, Michael Grayson, is positively charged up on Energy Savings Performance Contracting (ESPC). He recently kicked off the site walk on Reno’s ESPC with our Small Disabled Veteran Owned Business (SDVOB) partner, US2.

Together, the VA and its partners are evaluating energy savings conservation measures that will provide the Reno VA facility with state-of-the-art infrastructure upgrades. These upgrades will reduce operational costs and seamlessly integrate the VA Patient Centered Care Principles, and align with the Veteran Health Administration’s strategic priorities, e.g., greater choice, modernized systems, efficiency, improve timeliness and suicide prevention.

Together, our VA Sierra Pacific’s Energy Program Team is taking a Wholistic Integrated Sustainable Healthcare (WISH) approach toward reality in our efforts toward achieving our agency sustainability goals per Executive Order 13693, Planning for Federal Sustainability.

This ESPC will be replacing and upgrading the lighting around campus along with some other ECMs to ensure that our VA’s delivery of world class proactive, personalized and comprehensive health care services are supported by state-of-the-art, energy resilient and operationally efficient infrastructure.

The goal of the VA Sierra Pacific Network’s Energy Program is dedicated to serving our Veterans and their families in leading sustainability by example.
